Meet Miriam

Miriam is a skilled communicator, experienced Board member, and trusted strategic facilitator. Her style is animated and reassuring, grounded in thoughtful preparation and a calm, confident presence. She is known for guiding complex conversations with clarity and care, creating space for people to contribute meaningfully and for ideas to take shape.

With a background in strategic communications, she works with organisations to define the aim of their event, speaks with each panellist to understand their areas of expertise, and structures each panel discussion to ensure each speaker conveys their messages with intention and empathy. Miriam connects easily with presenters and audiences alike, bringing a natural warmth to even the most challenging discussions.

Facilitation Highlights

Drawing on her experiences as an investigative journalist Miriam delivers rewarding events where panellists shine, audiences are deeply engaged, and topics are explored with real depth.  

Her facilitation experience spans intimate gatherings and large-scale events, tackling important topics across sectors, including Indigenous affairs, health, medical research, education, politics, energy, and waste management.

Board Experience

Miriam is an Australian Institute of Company Directors graduate and an experienced Non-Executive Director for a diverse range of organisations. Her current roles include:

  • Non-Executive Director, SHIFT Accessible Homes

  • Board member and Deputy Chair, Healthway WA

  • Board member, disability service provider Rocky Bay

  • Governor, Hale School

  • Co-patron, Rowing WA

She previously served on the Boards of Lotterywest and Rowing WA's 'Making Waves,' a program to provide opportunities for teenagers in disadvantaged areas through the sport of rowing. She was also a long-standing committee member of Women in Media.

Significant Achievements

Miriam worked in corporate communications for Western Power and as senior communications advisor for the Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research. She was the ABC's first female State Politics Reporter in WA and a Senior Reporter for 'The 7.30 Report.’ Over many years she has provided presentation and communications skills training to several CEOs and media spokespeople. While raising a family, Miriam successfully freelanced in radio broadcasting, media advising, corporate filmmaking, strategic facilitation, and MC work.
